What you'll be doing?
- Own & hone fundamental parts of the Software ecosystem at Spacebox - primarily, but not limited to our Backend systems, API’s, databases, security, automation, testing etc
- Identify areas for improvement in existing programs and subsequently actualise the same
- Ensure platforms are up and bug free 24x7
- Review and recommend refactoring legacy code where it makes sense to do so
- We are a flat team comprising backend & frontend developers, UI/UX designer(s), tech lead(s), product & engineering manager(s) - collaborate with us to maintain an efficient and healthy line of project execution and overall direction
- While execution and implementation are certainly your prime focus, you’ll work closely with the Engineering Manager and Tech Lead to counsel on project and resource planning for the overall Software Team
- Consider it your badge of duty honour to obsess with quality of what you and your fellows work on
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related disciplines
- 5+ years hands-on experience using languages and frameworks for problem-solving
- MUST have experience with Ruby on Rails
- Version control with Git/GitHub (must)
- Knowledge of platforms such as AWS, Heroku (brownie)
- Knowledge of relational databases, PostgreSQL in particular (super brownie)
- Good interpersonal, strong organisational and communication skills
- Strong sense of responsibility and self-motivated team player
- Immediately available is preferred
